Photography and Editorial Design – Documenting a Random Street
.

Capturing the Everyday
You can walk around Berlin for hours and keep discovering new places and surprising details. Every corner of this city hides its own little world. As a multi-centred metropolis, Berlin is a patchwork of parallel universes - they exist in parallel as well as together.

This project is a documentary exploration of the typographic landscape and character of a randomly chosen street in the city of Berlin. How does everyday life take place here? Which shops characterise the streetscape? Which individuals spend their days here, and how do they do it? Berlin is made up of countless streets, each with its own identity. But what really characterises a street? What gives it its unique character? In this zine, I took a closer look. Using photography and editorial design, I have worked out details that are often overlooked or drowned out in the hustle and bustle of the big city. In the style of an objective survey, the project intends to sharpen the eye in the busy urban environment and encourages people to take time to notice their surroundings.
